Be Cause

One day. Lately it’s been so kind of tough, just to keep my temper down, just to keep my head above, all of the things I think of. Paper thin walls these corridors; they’ll always seem to know my thoughts. Now every day the circles close, so far away from the applause. Why do they seem to leave us now? The ones that gave us all so much. Now when I feel the peace is gone, that’s when I ask where is the love?  When we breathe in the poison cloud will you tell me to shut my mouth? Before I give you all away, before I bring your system down. I waited in the lifeless line, where I was made to take the blame. You tell me that this life is mine, then I was told to give my name. Now I’m outside in the marches, being silenced because you hide, from the one thing I was born with, is the power to speak my mind. Now my microphone’s a weapon, listen but please don’t take offence, of all the things I say to you, it’s just because my life depends, on everything you say and do and now sometimes those things you don’t. I only try to make a change, now that’s because I know you won’t. One day if we could learn to talk then feel one if not the same. One day if we could find the strength together we could try again. One day if we could learn to love and ask for nothing in return. One day if we could stand alone and tell the lessons we have learned. Now there’s never a perfect time, to change inside the paradigm. Your voice is just a frequency, your signal’s always out of range. Do I use words like you use me? Lost in a world that seems so strange. Search for you in a stranger’s face, bitter pills have the sweetest taste. I only disappear to let you know, to let you know that I exist. Until I feel I’m close to you, just one of my attention tricks. One day if we could learn to talk then feel one if not the same. One day if we could find the strength together we could try again. One day if we could learn to love and ask for nothing in return. One day if we could stand alone and tell the lessons we have learned. One day if we could learn to talk and feel one if not the same. One day if we could find the strength together we could try again. One day if we could learn to love and ask for nothing in return. One day if we could stand alone and tell the lessons we have learned. One day if we can walk away from everything we own. With peace inside we find our mind and we can make this world our home. One day if we could learn to sing then we could make our voices loud. One day if we could let life bring love to the lost then they’ll be found. One day if we could find a road that takes us far from here, then we could take all of the hurt we’ve known and we can make it disappear. One day if your smile just froze, would you worry what people see? You know your face just sometimes shows, how happy you could be. Sometimes I feel I’m too far gone, that they will never let me in.  I’m just a poet with a protest song, I’ve seen the signs time to begin. I’ve seen the signs time to begin.
